NTN Agricultural and farm bearings

Agricultural machinery requires better seals for contaminated conditions, provisions for misalignment, and economical mountings for shafts and housings. A variety of standard and custom bearing designs suit these particular needs of the agricultural industry. A complete line of insert ball bearings, shaft mounted with either locking collar or set screws or tapered adapters, are available. Several proven seal designs from low torque shields to heavy-duty triple lip seals are offered. Disc harrow bearings are also available with either round, square, or hexagonal bores. All bearings are available with or without re-lubrication holes. Several custom duty bearings have been designed for such applications as cam followers, idler pulleys, and planter wheels.

Manufactured to the same close tolerances as the radial type, but designed with contact angles of 15°, 30°, and 40° to accommodate greater thrust loads. A common choice, at higher precision levels, for applications such as machine tool spindles where both accuracy and high thrust loads are present. They are typically mounted in pairs, providing thrust capacity in either direction and good rigidity for applications where shaft movement is critical. Double row assemblies offer shaft rigidity, compactness, and higher radial capacity as well as moderate thrust capacity in both directions.

The superiority of its sealed bearings from contaminants means longer life. And unit construction with fewer parts means fast, easy installation and maintenance, with less downtime. The SPW is so simple, so obvious, so right, it's a wonder nobody's made one before. The SPW is not to be confused with one piece pillow blocks that have eccentric/concentric locking collars. These do not feature sealed roller bearings but, like the SNH merely have external seals.

Plastic Housings

Pillow blocks and flange units are available with either ball or spherical roller bearing inserts. Designed for general and heavy duty applications with or without relube features. Housings are made of gray cast iron for most applications. However, pressed steel and special nodular cast iron housings and washdown units, consisting of stainless steel inserts mounted in plastic or stainless steel housings, are available where applicable. Shaft mounting is by set screw, locking collar or tapered adapter.

Designed for heavy radial loads, however can tolerate light or intermittent thrust loads. Speed capabilities comparable to ball bearings. NTN-Bower's case carburized ISO E-Types offer 1.4 times the life of conventional E-Types. For high speed applications, machined brass cages are used. Super precision double-row bearings are also available with close tolerances; ideal for use in machine tool spindles, etc. Sized from 0.7874" (20 mm) inside diameter to 22.8346" (580 mm) outside diameter.

Sealed spherical roller bearings fit existing envelope dimensions and feature a double lip seal that increases seal capacity and prevents contamination even during normal misalignment. Sealed tapered roller bearings with anti-creep design are available with various seals, applicable for low to high speed applications. Cone sleeves and contact seals with removable seal rings protect against contamination. Ball designs with non-contacting single or double shields and contacting or non-contacting single or double seals are available. A wide variety of bearing types are available for most mill applications.
